'The Scarf'

Finally, a picture of 'The Scarf"

This picture is outside the gate of our branch building in Sen Sok.  (taken about 3 months ago.) Pretty humble surroundings.

So all you girls and moms, young or older, when your time comes to serve - as a young sister, or as a senior one, this can be our tradition of passing on this scarf.  It may travel the world!

"Go ye into all the world and preach my Gospel"

Our Day Yesterday

Dad and I needed to find some of the buildings where members meet in cities outside of Phnom Penh.  We took a senior couple with us that have been here 2 years, to help us find them.  Elder and Sister Hollenzer.  They go home in about a week.

School got out while we were driving by and the kids were just leaving.  They walk, ride bikes or take tuk-tuks home. They all wore helmets.   Wearing a helmet walking home from school says a little how dangerous these roads are.  The front two boys haven't put theirs on yet.  I seriously get scared to death seeing, especially like little 5 year olds, walking or riding their bikes through the traffic.

 Some houses around the church.

I love the sky in this picture.  Cambodia's skies are so beautiful.
This is the Church Meeting House.  It is just a group that meets here.  The Baku Group.  Not enough members to form a branch.  This was the group leaders house.  He offered it so the members would have a place to meet.  He built him and his family a little tin shack behind it to live in.  Yes, A huge sacrifice....

This is the chapel.  It is clean.  The members take their shoes off outside for their meetings here.  They really are grateful and show respect.

This is the neighborhood the Baku church is in.

This picture of me with the Hollenzers is by the Church in Ta Khmau.  I didn't get a picture of this one.  We were there for Dad's good pictures mainly, so I hadn't got my camera out yet. This building that you don't see has 2 branches meet in it.  Dad and I were surprised there were so many different Church buildings.  We saw five today that we hadn't been to before.

This next building was amazing.  A house that must have been a mansion.  The church just rents these buildings.  Here is the chapel of this one.  It is where the Pochentong Branch meets.

The font outside in the courtyard.

Also a swing outside in the courtyard.  It is a very pretty place.

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY !

Happy 4th of July Family !

We hope your day is wonderful!  We are missing being there, but know you will be having fun!  We love you all so much!!!

Here are just a couple of photos of our 4th.

We went to the invitation only Diplomatic Reception this morning at the US Embassy.

This is just the hall going inside.
  Drinks and appetizers here.

Posting of the colors, National Anthem.

A very decorated Marine in his dress uniform.  He had a purple heart, all kinds of medals of valour.  Interesting to talk to.

Dad with the US Ambassador.  William E. Todd

Some yummy treats! I quit counting after 3 cupcakes... really delicious!!!

The event at the embassy later was what we had originally signed up for tickets for.  But our Invitation to the morning event included the afternoon picnic also.  (a plus, we didn't have to buy our tickets.)

There was also a circus. An organization in Battambang teaches kids circus acts while going to school.  Now grown up, this group of Cambodians are on their way to the US to perform with Ringling Bros.

They were warming up in these photos.

Again, Happy 4th!!!  We love you!!!
